''Shalom Culture and Music Festival''

"The Shalom Culture & Music Festival will take place from May to October and will visit 7 Lithuanian cities and towns. The almost half-year-long Jewish Music & Culture Festival will feature classical and contemporary composers, klezmer melodies, jazz improvisations, exhibitions and artistic activities. Musicians and singers from Lithuania, Ukraine and Israel will participate in the festival. This year's festival programme includes 12 concerts in Vilnius, Kaunas, Šiauliai, Telšiai, Alytus, Palanga and Zapyškis.

 

The festival is partly financed by Vilnius City Municipality, Kaunas City Municipality, Embassy of Israel in Lithuania, the Department of National Minorities under the Lithuanian Government, Wix.com, Park Inn Vilnius Airport and private sponsors. ·        14 May, 19:00 Opening concert at St Catherine's Church. Performers: Israel Roytman (Israel), Giedrė Kisieliūtė (soprano), Joris Rubinovas (bass), Karolina Mint

·        15 May, 18:00 Israel Roytman concert at the Chaim Frenkel Villa (free event)

·        16 May, 18:00 Israel Roytman concert at the Telšiai Yeshiva (free event)

·        30 May, 18:30 Rakija Klezmer Band concert at the Vilnius district Adam Mickiewicz Public Library (free event)

·        4 June, 19:00 Concert by Rafailas Karpis and the Vilnius State Choir at St Catherine's Church

·        7 June, 20:00 Concert by Yevgenii Musijets, a bayan virtuoso from Ukraine, at the Palanga Kurhaus

·        11 June, 18:00 Concert by Yevgenii Musijets, bayan virtuoso from Ukraine, at the Alytus Synagogue

·        27 August, 19:00 Concert by Lukas Geniušas, Dalia Dėdinskaitė and Gleb Pyšniak at St Catherine's Church

·        31 August, 20:00 Concert by opera soloist Joris Rubinov at Palanga Kurhaus

·        8 September, 16:00 Concert by Rafailas Karpis and the Vilnius State Choir at Kaunas Railway Station (free event)

·        23 September, 18:00 Concert dedicated to the Day of the Genocide of the Lithuanian Jews at the Old Zapyškis Church. Performers: opera soloist Joris Rubinovas (free event)

·        2 October 17:00 Shofar March through Jerusalem of the North

·        3 October 19:00 Festival closing concert at St. Catherine's Church. Performers: Orit Orbach (clarinet, Israel), Yevgenii Musijets (bayan, Ukraine), Vilnius City Municipality St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra (artistic director and chief conductor Modestas Barkauskas) and guest musicians.
