Daddy Was A Milkman accoustic tour ''Quite Something''

 

 

"I was incredibly lucky to meet an amazing Latvian guitar virtuoso - Gints Smukais - this winter. To me, he is a true guitar wizard. Gints opened for our show in Riga at Palladium, and that was the first time I heard his uniquely styled music. I listened to his entire soundcheck without closing my eyes—I was mesmerized," shares Daddy Was A Milkman, whose real name is Ignas Pociūnas.

 

According to the artist, he had long contemplated performing his songs in an acoustic format. Still, he lacked an exceptional guitarist who could captivate an audience for hours with just one instrument. "Gints can do it - and he does it brilliantly. We discussed the possibility of playing together, and things moved quickly. After the New Year, we met in Riga, selected, and rehearsed around thirty songs from my repertoire. I can honestly say - I had never heard my music sound this way before. Gints has incredible musical ideas, and in his hands, the guitar sounds like multiple instruments at once," says Ignas.

 

Gints Smukais shares his excitement about the upcoming tour: "We first met in Riga at Palladium, where I was opening for his concert. Ignas listened to my entire soundcheck and, deeply moved, invited me backstage. As we talked, we quickly realized that we share a similar vision of music creation, the magic of live performance, and, of course, a deep love for guitars! He had long envisioned performing as a duo with a guitarist, and when he heard me play, he saw it as a sign that the time had come to bring this idea to life. I love his music, so I did not doubt that something beautiful would come out of this collaboration!"
