"Salut D'Amour": Violin and Piano – A Wordless Dialogue

On May 3rd at 19:00, in the refined atmosphere of the historic hall of Vilnius Town Hall, the concert "Salut D’Amore" will take place—a special evening filled with exceptional music, performed by Latvian musicians: virtuoso violinist Alexey Kolesnikov and the magnificent pianist Roman Testelets.

The program brings together works by outstanding composers from different eras and stylistic directions: Pablo de Sarasate, Ernest Bloch, Joseph Achron, John Williams, Julian Krein, Joel Engel, Vittorio Monti, Dmitri Shostakovich, and Edward Elgar. Their compositions, woven into a harmonious musical pattern, will create a vivid soundscape, awakening emotions and imagination, and filling the audience with genuine beauty.

This concert offers a unique opportunity to hear how traditional and modern musical ideas intertwine, complementing and enhancing one another. From the philosophical reflections of Joseph Achron and the cinematic intonations of John Williams to the dazzling virtuosity of Vittorio Monti’s Czardas, each piece in the program will add a special touch to this musical canvas.

FEATURED ARTISTS:

ALEXEY KOLESNIKOV – A Latvian virtuoso violinist, multi-style musician, international competition laureate, and an exceptional violin improviser. A participant in TV shows and international festivals, he possesses flawless virtuosity and a rare sense of style.

Born in Riga, Alexey won first place in the Talents for Latvia competition for three consecutive years as a child. At 16, he moved to Moscow, where he graduated from the Moscow Conservatory.

He spent nearly 20 years abroad, working on renowned musical projects spanning both classical music and the entertainment industry. Nine years ago, Alexey returned to Latvia, where he continues his artistic journey.

ROMAN TESTELETS – A renowned Latvian pianist, multi-style musician, music educator, improviser, and vocalist, as well as the founder and director of the children's educational center RUDAGA.

Hailing from a distinguished musical family, Roman’s aunt Eleonora Testelec is a celebrated cellist who studied under Evalds Berziņš and Mstislav Rostropovich in St. Petersburg. She won third place at the Tchaikovsky Competition, was awarded Latvia’s prestigious Great Music Award, and received the country’s highest honor—the Order of the Three Stars.

Roman has extensive experience working with show business stars, participating in various musical projects, and organizing international competitions for young performers and musicians.
