Vilnius Tango Theater, counting its tenth year of creative activity, invites you to immerse yourself in a unique premiere - "Tango Furioso".
"Tango Furioso" is a performance in which elements of traditional and modern tango intertwine. The choreography reflects both classical tango and modern interpretations of this dance, which give tango culture a new lease of life.This is not just a show, it is the story of an emotional journey that invites the audience to immerse themselves in the world of tango, where feelings are not expressed in words, but in body language.
"Tango is a dance that contains all the power of life: from deep melancholy to joyous triumph, from tender love to uncontrollable passion, but the best news about tango is that it never ends," assures Vilnius Tango Theater manager and choreographer Sigitas Repšys.
The word "furioso" means "furious" in Spanish, says choreographer and co-director Alexis Gonzalez, but the word is not necessarily negative.Fury can also be a creative force, a storm that cleanses, brings in fresh air, dispels old emotions and prepares a place for new ones. Our performance "Tango Furioso" aims to convey this feeling - it is energetic, intense, full of life and passion, and every movement, every musical note is saturated with this powerful energy that we want to convey to the audience."
Each dancer gives a part of themselves to the characters they create, which is what makes Tango Furioso so unique. We don't just try to repeat traditions, we create something new, inspired by old roots, but modern and alive", say the creators of the tango show.
