Many years ago, an uninterrupted journey began to a place often called the edge of the world — Argentina, with its untamed natural beauty, scorching sun, mesmerizing mountains, warm-hearted people, the rhythm of chacarera, the fluttering scarves of zamba, the aroma of juicy gaucho steaks, and, above all, the enchanting tango. A small part of this world has been transported to Lithuania through Vilnius Tango Theater, which brings to life spectacular tango shows like Barrio de Tango (translated as “Tango District” — a place where tango was born and lives). This creation of Vilnius Tango Theater takes you to the famous Buenos Aires neighborhood of La Boca, where the colorful Caminito street is believed to be the birthplace of tango, inviting you to feel the depth of this magnificent culture’s soul. Because tango, like a person, can be many things — but it is always, without exception, captivating, bold, and full of love.

Barrio de Tango features European Tango Champions Rūta Keller and Alexis Gonzalez, Vilnius Tango Theater dancers Ieva Eisimantė and Emmanuel Riquelme, Veronica Gabriela Luna, along with pianists Eglė Kasteckaitė/Ugnė Kaušiūtė and singers Agnė Sabulytė/Patricija Luščynska.
